Madison, November 16, 2018 — Rebate Bus, a Madison-based technology startup, has closed an investment of $500,000 from the Winnebago Seed Fund. The financing will be used to expand the Rebate Bus team in Wisconsin and will allow for further investment in its proprietary utility rebate platform.

Rebate Bus provides the energy efficiency industry with a comprehensive utility rebate dataset, available via API. They also provide a beginning to end rebate fulfillment service that delivers clients a hands off experience; this service is particularly useful for multi-site national project rollouts. Finally, the company has developed an instant rebate product that allows incentives to be delivered instantly, online or in-store.

Founded by Joe Pater and Mitch Vogel in 2017, Rebate Bus headquarters are in Madison with additional employees in Northeastern Wisconsin, St. Louis, MO and Denver, CO. The investment from Winnebago Seed Fund will drive additional hiring and product development in Wisconsin.

“Between their commitment to Wisconsin-based entrepreneurs and their enthusiasm for technology-driven startups, The Winnebago Seed Fund is an ideal partner for Rebate Bus as we deepen our data analytics toolset and scale our company into more distributors and retailers” said Joe Pater, Co-Founder and CEO of Rebate Bus. “We are excited to have partners that align with our vision and can help us grow as a powerful resource to our customers and as an employer in Wisconsin.”

“Rebate Bus is a uniquely positioned technology company with significant growth opportunity,” said David Trotter, Managing Director at the Winnebago Seed Fund. “The platform that Joe and the team have developed is impressive and we’re excited to be working together to scale the business.”

Rebate Bus is the 6th startup to be funded by the Winnebago Seed Fund whose goal is to invest in Wisconsin entrepreneurs and grow startups throughout the state. The investment in Rebate Bus will advance the company’s technology and reach, and is a positive sign for entrepreneurship in the region.
