As of June 15, 2017, First Energy Companies: Toledo Edison, Ohio Edison, and The Illuminating Company have doubled their incentives for non-prescriptive lighting upgrades. For a limited time, customers from these three utilities can now earn $0.10 per kWh saved as opposed to the previous incentive of $0.05 per kWh saved.
Upgrading interior and exterior lighting fixtures to LED will save you a significant amount of energy, and with every kWh saved you’ll earn $0.10! That means if you were to replace just one 130W fluorescent T8 lamp with a 30W LED T8, assuming you have the lights running 12 hours a day for a year, you can earn back a total of $42 per lamp from the kWh you saved by upgrading.
With an incentive cap at an astounding 2,000,000 kWh per customer, you have the potential to earn $200,000 in incentives! However, this is a limited time offer so the sooner you apply the more incentive funding from First Energy will be available. Customers must have their projects pre-approved within the limited time offer and then have 90 days to complete their upgrade installations in order to be eligible for incentives.
Given the time sensitivity for these incentives, why not have someone prepare your rebate application for you?
